The Smither Family

I've known Asta and her sister Neisha for over 10 years now; I photographed Neishas' son Tyler after he was born and I photographed Miley, Astas' daughter when she was in her mums tummy and several times afterwards. However, I hadn't seen these guys since Miley was 8 months old so it was so special to spend some time together when I was home in New Zealand recently.

Tyler has grown into an incredibly smart and kind wee boy who made me laugh many times and it was so awesome to see how he gets on with his younger cousin. Having not seen Miley since she was a baby, I was so amazed at her graceful and eloquent nature, just like her mum.

I consider creating portraits like this a privilege, and it makes me so happy to know my clients, and friends, have images like this to enjoy for years to come. Kids grow up way too fast, take the time to lay in a field, share some giggles and capture the moment!

Love you guys xx

Atkins Family

Its always such an honour photographing a newborn; getting to capture all the tiny details, the blossoming bond between the parents & baby, the wide eyes stares and the genuine joy.

Baby Grace was an absolute star for her photo-shoot, even though she was awake, she was happy watching the world go by. Once again, this is why I recommend newborn photos in your own home; for your comfort, the personal touch and beautiful natural light!

Loving these vintage tones lately too!

Fishtellos Wedding

I had the absolute pleasure and honour of being asked to photograph Sam & Alanas wedding on Waitangi Day in Dunedin, NZ this year. Ive known these guys since I was 18 and the coolest thing about photographing a friends wedding, is that so many of the guests were good friends of mine too! Some people I hadnt seen since highschool, and many had travelled home from far overseas for the occasion so it was pretty darn special. Waitangi Day is also my birthday and getting to spend the day with so many friends was the absolute best present, ever!

The wedding itself was held at the brides mums property high above Dunedin on Pine Hill, which they had landscaped into the most beautiful venue complete with a tiered service area, enormous marigold heart, fire pits, a bar, food truck and huge decorated marquee. Everything was wonderfully personalised and there was a real "festival" vibe which suited perfectly. The day came together beautifully and everyone was just so obviously so stoked for Sam & Alana. We headed up to the top of Mount Cargill for some portraits and were completely clouded in which was perfectly magical, but also freezing. What would a Dunedin wedding be without some crazy weather though right?

Of all the weddings I have shot in my career, this one is pretty high up there; there were so many moments of genuine joy, enormous laughs and beaming love. From having 100 people sing me happy birthday, to speeches that left many in hysterics and tears, gorging ourselves on the most delicious food and drinks and then dancing the night away like we were back at "Bath Street" 10 years ago, this was a true celebration.

Congratulations to you both, your day was simply epic, thank-you for bringing me home to be apart of it all

xx
