Fuji Australia held an awesome event in Melbourne called 'People with Cameras' "designed for you to meet like-minded people in your city and community". Around 200 strangers met in the Fitzroy Gardens, we were divided into small groups and given the theme 'Shadow & Light' and an hour to head off and create something that we felt represented that. I ended up with a great group of people and we wandered around together in the fading evening light with our variety of cameras. I had a new 85mm f2. lens to play with on my Nikon D7200 and was mostly drawn to the abstract shapes in the foliage.
We met back with the whole group and through a series of group eliminations worked out the best images, of which one of mine made the cut and went to the final judging. I was stoked to be awarded the runner-up prize for the image below:
Thanks so much to Fuji, Thinktank, Lucky Camera Straps and all the other organisers and sponsors of the event, it was an awesome night and super fun to hang out with other photographers and people in the industry.
